Meet Pastor Todd

The Waterford Riverside Seventh-day Adventist church is pleased to introduce you to our pastor, Todd Ervin.  We were blessed to have Pastor Todd, his wife, Sharlene, and his two daughters, Erin and Liesel, join our church family in April of 2017.

Pastor Todd was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, where he worked for General Motors for 21 years. A call came from God, loud and clear, to leave the 'plow' and work in God's vineyard full time, beginning in Alaska! The Ervin family took their ministry to Ketchikan and Craig, located in Southeast Alaska, for four years.  Then a call came to pastor the Wasilla and Eagle River churches up in the interior of Alaska, outside of Anchorage, in the beautiful Matanuska Valley, where they ministered to the fine people of Alaska for 2 1/2 years. More recently, Todd received the call to come back home to Michigan, where the Ervin family is ministering to two wonderful congregations, Waterford and Livingston. Waterford is where the Ervin family is settling in to their new home.

Pastor Todd earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Supervision and Management from Central Michigan University, and his graduate degree in Pastoral Ministry from Andrews University. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in July of 2015, at the Alaska camp meeting located in Palmer, Alaska. Pastor Ervin loves to disciple people into a saving relationship with Jesus and loves to train his congregations to be disciples. In his "spare" time, he loves to visit people, friends, family, church family, and work out in his yard. He is an avid reader, loves history, and both he and Sharlene love to travel.

Sharlene Ervin, Pastor Todd’s wife, whom he loves to refer to as his "better half," also grew up in Flint, Michigan. Pastor Todd is convinced his ministry would not be complete without his beloved spouse right by his side! Sharlene is a Loma Linda University graduate (Loma Linda, California) and a practicing Occupational Therapist. She, currently, works at Crittenton Hospital, located in Rochester, Michigan. Sharlene loves to help others and often helps people improve their lives in whatever capacity she can. Spending time with family and traveling with her hubby are her favorite things to do.

Erin Ervin, the Ervin's oldest daughter, also born and raised in Flint, received her under-graduate degree from Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California, in Speech, Language, and Pathology.  Her graduate degree is from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan - Communications Sciences and Disorders (Speech Therapy). She is practicing as a Speech Therapist in Grand Blanc, Michigan.   Erin loves spending time with her friends, gardening,  and fiddling with the computer. She, also, enjoys traveling and seeing new things.  She is also planning for her wedding with her fiancee, Anthony, sometime in the fall of 2021.

The Ervin's youngest is Liesel.  She, too, was born and raised in Flint. When she was 15 the family moved to Alaska. She graduated from Southern Adventist University (Collegedale, Tennessee) in the spring of 2018 with a Bachelor of Art's degree in Psychology, minor is Sociology.  Her educational endeavors is to earn a Doctorate in Psychology.  Liesel currently works as a Developmental Disability Clinician in the Lansing, Michigan area.  Her wonderful husband Kevin, is an Accountant, also in the Lansing area. Liesel loves adventures and spending time with friends and family. She, like the rest of the family, loves to travel.

Let’s hear from Pastor Todd, in his own words, as he gives his testimony and
talks about the life-changing events which led to his call to Christian Ministry.
